PURPOSE
The Southern New Jersey Perinatal Cooperative (Cooperative) is a maternal and child health consortium. The Cooperative supports the 11 birthing facilities offering maternity services in Southern New Jersey and provides programs to support families residing in the counties the hospitals serve focused on prevention, education, and care coordination services. The Cooperative has a sincere and deep commitment to promoting equity and eliminating racial and ethnic disparity in health outcomes for birthing people, infants, children, teens, and families in our region.
The Cooperative seeks qualified consultants to serve as a Medical Director for the new Universal Home Visitation program.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO RESPOND?
Qualifications: CNM, NP, PA, DO, or MD
Area of Specialty: Pediatrics, obstetrics, family medicine, or midwifery. Clinicians with expertise in infant health will need to consult with clinicians who have expertise in maternal health, and vice versa.
Minimum Time Commitment: 8 hours per week (hybrid)
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Guidance
Develop clinical guidelines, including normal vs. abnormal assessment findings and how nurses should respond to abnormal assessment findings. Review clinical guidelines annually and update as needed.
Participate in case conference as available.
Answer clinical questions from nursing staff as needed.
Advocacy
Advocate for high-quality, equitable health care on behalf of patients and nurse home visitors.
Advocate for systems level change based on program data and Community Advisory Board/nurse/family reports.
External Relationship Building
Enthusiastically recommend Universal Home Visitation program to hospital and outpatient clinical staff.
Promote best practices in program marketing and scheduling in hospital and outpatient settings
