Mom’s Quit Connection
About the Program
Mom’s Quit Connection (MCQ) is a free smoking cessation support program for pregnant women, and mothers, families and caregivers of young children who need help trying to quit.
We offer
- individual counseling
- care plans tailored to each familyfs unique situation
- support groups specifically addressing why quitting can be so difficult
- community based education programs for professional and public audiences.
- A smoking cessation resource center that provides information and referral to professionals and families seeking smoking cessation support and treatment.
All services provided free of charge to New Jersey residents.
MQC Works.
The MQC quit rate for our case managed clients is 20%. Of those who continue to smoke during their pregnancy, almost all (865) were able to reduce their cigarette consumption.
A recent study found that the percentage of pregnant MQC clients who resumed smoking within a year of their baby’s birth is 50% compared to a national rate of between 75–85%.
