Eco-Healthy Child Care® Training

In choosing a child care center, today's parents place a high value on healthy environments. The Lead and Healthy Homes Program can help you meet these expectations with free training from Eco-Healthy Child Care®

Our certified trainers will provide your staff with the knowledge and skills needed to maintain a environmentally healthy center. EHCC is a free, nationally recognized, science-based curriculum designed to meet the needs of child care centers within all settings.

EHCC Training consists of 11 modules, each lasting 45 minutes. You can schedule individual sessions or the entire course.

Discussion topics include:

  • Air Quality
  • Household Chemicals
  • Lead
  • Art Supplies
  • Mercury
  • Radon
  • Garbage and Recycling
  • Arsenic
  • Pest Control
  • Furniture and Carpeting
  • Plastics

All EHCC sessions are held on-site and at your convenience. Whether it is during nap time or after hours, we work around your schedule to find a time that works best for you and your staff. Our trainers will also provide refreshments upon request.

Participants and child care centers also receive Certificates of Completion for each session completed.

Children’s Environmental Health Network

Lead and Healthy Homes also provides free assistance to centers interested in seeking endorsement by the national Children’s Environmental Health Network. Centers that qualify receive a 2-year endorsement including a certificate that lets parents and others know of their efforts, and demonstrate their commitment to being Eco-Healthy. Endorsed programs are also listed on the CEHN website.

Our staff will help you complete the necessary steps to become endorsed and submit your application. Contact Kelly McLaughlin at kmclaughlin@snjpc.org for additional information.
