The Cooperative helps South Jersey families, with a service region of Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties.
About 21,000 babies are born each year in South Jersey and the Cooperative is concerned about the health of each and every birth. The region's infant mortality rate, a key health indicator, is below both the state and national rates. However, the black infant mortlaity rate remains a serious concern at more than double the state average.
Economically, the region lags behind the state. While there are pockets of wealth, the percentage of families living in poverty is higher than the state average in five of the seven counties served by the Cooperative.
SNJPC maintains three offices in the South Jersey region: Pennsauken (main office), Atlantic City and Camden City.
