Professional Education

SNJPC is committed to providing the best in continuing education for South Jersey's maternal and child health care provider community. We offer high-quality opportunities which integrate current theory with best practices while taking into consideration time and budgetary constraints. Courses bolster provider skills to ensure the region's maternal and child health care services are models of excellence.

Professional education topics are determined by regional need and member recommendations. Formats include traditional conferences, webinars and on-site training. SNJPC is an approved provider of nursing contact hours, but we can secure other continuing education credits as needed.

SNJPC offers web-based training opportunities for health care professionals interested in advancing their skills and knowledge base. Our current webinar offerings include:

Ask, Advise, and Refer: A Brief Intervention Model

Ask, Advise, and Refer is a free 45-minute webinar designed for prenatal care providers and staff on how to implement a brief smoking cessation intervention for patients. A discussion about the health risks of tobacco use is included. AA&R trained offices are eligible to obtain customized MQC fax-to-quit referral forms.

On-site Training

Several SNJPC programs offer on-site training opportunities. These offerings cover a variety of subject areas including:

Conferences and Workshops

Several times throughout the year, SNJPC staff sponsor or co-sponsor intensive conferences and workshops which cover a specific topic or subject. Depending on the conference, these opportunities may include nursing and/or social work contact hours.
