Parents as Teachers is founded on the belief that parents are a child's first and best teacher. The program focuses on helping parents prepare children for a strong start in life. Through PAT, parents collaborate with specially-trained educators and health care providers to create a healthy environment for success. Program educators support families by facilitating parent-child interaction, encouraging development-centered parenting and promoting family well-being.
PAT is an evidenced-based, home visiting program operating in communities around the globe. PAT educators visit the home twice a month to monitor child development, answer parenting questions and address other struggles that could interfere with a child's success in these crucial early years.
Camden PAT is open to pregnant women and parents of children under the age of three who live in Camden, Pennsauken, Collingswood, Oaklyn, Woodlynne or Audubon, NJ.
