Intro to Implicit Bias: The IAT and Me
Join us for this virtual, interactive Intro to Implicit Bias training that supports the new Implicit Bias law (NJ S703) signed by Governor Murphy for perinatal staff. This training will introduce perinatal staff to the Harvard Implicit Association Test (IAT) to assist perinatal healthcare professionals in identifying their own implicit biases, discuss examples of implicit bias in healthcare and identify tools to mitigate bias to reduce perinatal disparities. Please join us as we work toward providing equitable care and increasing positive outcomes for women of color in New Jersey.
Prior to attending the training, participants should complete the Harvard Implicit Association Test (IAT) for 'Race' and two other selections of their choice. Participants should keep notes on their feelings about the IAT including their reactions to their results. Thoughts on the IAT will be discussed during a 20-minute breakout session.
