Mom’s Quit Connection

Mom’s Quit Connection (MCQ) is a smoking cessation support program for pregnant women, and mothers of young children who need help trying to quit.

Since its launch in 2001 MQC has become increasingly involved in training perinatal clinicians and other maternal and child health care providers throughout New Jersey to utilize brief intervention counseling when helping pregnant smokers.

Based on the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists’ recommended clinical guidelines for counseling pregnant smokers known as the 5 A’s, the training offers practical strategies to more effectively communicate with pregnant smokers in traditional healthcare and non traditional settings, emphasizing that just 5 to 15 minute interventions can make a huge difference.

For more information about these services visit the consumer section or email MQC@snjpc.org
