Perinatal Addictions Prevention Program
About the Program
The Perinatal Addictions Prevention Project educates pregnant women about the risks of drug and alcohol use. Substance use during pregnancy multiplies the chances of low birth weight, developmental problems, and miscarriage. To ensure women at-risk receive appropriate assistance, the program is also working to implement a prenatal screening tool for the early identification and timely referral for treatment of high-risk behavioral practices.
