About the Award

For 13 years, SNJPC has honored the memory of former Board Member Joseph A. Pacera by paying tribute to people whose extraordinary work has improved the lives of South Jersey families.

Joseph A. Pacera was a dynamic advocate for families in need. He is remembered by his deep personal commitment to the cause of maternal-child health in South Jersey. Every year, SNJPC looks for others who carry on his work in spirit and in action.

The Joseph A. Pacera Award for Service to Maternal and Child Health recognizes a person or agency helping to make South Jersey a healthier place for pregnant women and small children. The award was created especially to praise the “unsung heroes” of South Jersey. It is often given to those whose efforts have not been publicly acknowledged.

The Pacera Award includes:

  • a $1,000 contribution by SNJPC to the recipient's favorite 501(c)3 charity
  • a plaque presented at the SNJPC Annual Meeting (April 2008)
  • the recipient's name on the Pacera plaque in the SNJPC Pennsauken office
